bow, wow, wow II

I used to know the name of this very sweet and very large Mastiff . I seem to rememberhis name is somehow connected to a Humphrey Bogart movie - maybe it is even Bogart; unfortunately his human wasn't outside the other day when I walked by and snapped this picture.

It is a good thing that this fellow is relaxed and mellow, he is so tall escape would probably a piece of kibble. But he appears very secure and content in his yard and never really seems agitated when strangers approach.

This week the Snap celebrates some of the dogs of Lakewood. And we start off with a triptych of these two dogs. As I walked by they arose from their spots in the sun to bark friendly greetings

such expressive ears you have, little one,

and such long ears you have, o basset!

A groundskeeper at Grant Elementary School uses a blower to move leaves. Grant Elementary School was one of four Lakewood schools which received an "excellent" designation on the Ohio Department of Education Report Card. Currently, there are seven elementary schools in Lakewood, however, with population changes there is discussion that in the years to come seven may be too many. We will see, we will see.
